'NO PRESSURE COOKER RECIPE'
YES! My first ever post on 'Mutton'! Dunno what took me that long. No wonder I am coming with a great recipe. No Disappointments. Fool-Proof! An absolute HIT! As we approach the new year, so comes the new beginnings. This is a 'Muharram Special Recipe'.
If you follow the exact recipe, there is no way you are going to be disappointed. There's mutton, grains, Oats, and pulses. It's a complete meal. Have it with your choice of bread at breakfast or dinner. Don't forget to garnish it with fried onions, herbs, ginger julienne, and lemon. It's a treat for all those meat lovers out there. Being a complete meal, potluck you don't even have to think of any sides to go with it. I think we really look for such recipes once in a while, don't we??
This recipe can be made using chicken. Follow the same steps, same ingredients, only thing there's chicken instead of mutton.
It's a highly nutritious dish, a complete meal to enjoy on family dinners. So good to taste and very flavorful.

MUTTON HALEEM

Ingredients
Mash Dal(Urad Dal/Black Gram) 2 tbsp
Rice 2 tbsp
Moong dal 1 tbsp
Split chickpeas (Chana dal) 1 tbsp
Red lentils (Masoor Dal) 1 tbsp
Oats 100gms
4 cups of water
Onions 3 Medium Sized
Mutton 800gms
Ginger garlic paste 4 tablespoon
Salt 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder ½tspn
Red chili powder 1tablespoon
Black pepper powder 1tablespoon
Garam masala powder 1tspn
Yogurt 250gms
Green chilies 10
Mint leaves 1 Bunch
Coriander leaves 1 Bunch
Cooking oil 250ml
Water 5glass
Garam Masala
4 Cinnamon sticks
Cumin seeds 1tspn
Cardamom 4
4 Cloves (laung)
1 tsp Peppercorns
For Garnishing (add As Per Your requirement)
Fried Onions
Ghee
Cashew Nuts(optional)
Coriander leaves and Mint Leaves
Ginger julienne
Lemon wedges
Instructions
Wash and soak the rice and lentils 3-4 hours ahead of cooking time.
Now cook them in a pot with 4 cups of water.
Meanwhile, let's begin the mutton cooking.
In a large pot add oil 1 cup and sliced onion, fry till golden brown, then add the green herbs, green chilies, and all other spices. Add meat and cook for 10 minutes.
Now add water and cook till meat is tender. Shred meat and grind lentils, then mix them both and add in the oats. Mix it well. No lumps formed. Cook on low flame.
Cook till required consistency is achieved.
Now in a small pan heat up ¼ cup oil and one sliced onion and fry till golden brown, pour this over Haleem.
Serve with all garnishes and enjoy this all-time favorite dish.
